As we appreciate 4th wave coffee, we can't forget the first wave

During a camping trip several years ago, as we explored the quiet streets of Harper's Ferry in the early morning fog (which makes for some dreamy photos, by the way), we stumbled upon a reenactment of the Civil War. One of the first sights was two soldiers gearing up for their day on the reimagined front lines with some freshly brewed camp coffee being ladled into tin cups.

I had already finished my moka pot brewed 6 bean espresso which was made into an oversized latte with a combination of coconut and almond milk (extra shot, wet) to suit my indulgent mood so catching this scene was a good reminder for just how far coffee has come as we drift from one wave of coffee to the next.
And can we take a moment to appreciate just how far camping tents have come as well?
